Thomas D. Lehrman, Managing Partner
Thomas D. Lehrman is Managing Partner of Teamworthy Ventures. Mr. Lehrman was formerly co-founder and former Co-Chief Executive Officer of Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) and has been involved as a founding or seed investor in numerous early stage ventures. Mr. Lehrman previously served as a Director of the Office of WMD Terrorism at the U.S. Department of State and as a member of the professional staff on the President’s WMD Commission. Earlier in his career, he worked as a financial analyst at Tiger Management. Mr. Lehrman has been a Board Member of several educational institutions including KIPP NYC Public Charter Schools, Brooklyn Excelsior Charter School, and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Mr. Lehrman graduated from Duke University and Yale Law School and his writings have appeared in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
Stephen Schmalhofer, Partner
Stephen is a Partner at Teamworthy Ventures and serves on the boards of UserInterviews, Hunt Club, and Better Agency. He leads the firm’s Summer Associate Program. He began his career at Swiss Re Capital Markets and Odyssey Re (a Fairfax Financial subsidiary). Stephen graduated from Yale College with a B.A. in History and an Ivy League football championship. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and their four daughters.
Justin Hintz, VP of Product & Technology
Justin leads our internal product and development teams, and brings 10+ years of product management and entrepreneurial experience. Prior to Teamworthy, he was a senior product owner at Revolut where he built their cross-border payments business, as well as helped Revolut launch and scale in the US. Prior to Revolut, while still an undergraduate, he co-founded a company facilitating cross-border payments from the US to Latin America. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Computer Science. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and organizational and leadership dynamics. He lives in New York City.
Brian Cashin, Vice President and Director of the Teamworthy Founder Fellowship
Brian is a Vice President on our investment team. Previously, Brian was a Senior Associate with Teamworthy Ventures after joining our team as a Summer Associate. Before Teamworthy, Brian worked as a software engineer on the Yale ITS Technology and Development Team. He graduated from Yale College with a B.A. as a double major in Economics and History where he was also President of the Yale Political Union and Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Socially Responsible Investments Journal. He is an accomplished violinist. He lives in New York City.
Kyle Limpic, Senior Associate
Kyle is a Senior Associate on our investment team. Previously, Kyle was a Summer Associate with Teamworthy Ventures before joining our team as a full-time Associate. Prior to Teamworthy, he worked as a research assistant in the tissue engineering laboratory of Dr. Donald Griffin at the University of Virginia, and interned at RRA Capital, a nationwide commercial real estate bridge lender. He graduated from UVA with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Engineering Business where he was also the President of Engineers Going Global, a student-run project incubator. Kyle is originally from Phoenix, AZ and is a proud Arizona sports fan. He lives in New York City.
Emma Barrett, Associate
Emma is an Associate on our investment team. Previously, she was a Summer Associate with Teamworthy Ventures. Prior to joining Teamworthy, she interned in D.C. for Senator Todd Young and for the Ethics and Public Policy Center. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in the Program of Liberal Studies and minors in Constitutional Studies and Business Economics. She is originally from South Bend, Indiana. She lives in New York City.
Patrick Lee, Associate
Patrick is an Associate on our investment team. Previously, he was a Summer Associate with Teamworthy Ventures. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he majored in the Program of Liberal Studies and minored in Business Economics, Theology, and Constitutional Studies. Outside the classroom, Patrick was involved for four years in Notre Dame Student Government and served as Student Body President. He also led service-immersion trips to rural America and played on the club hockey team. He is passionate about American history, classic literature, and pickup sports of any kind.
Josiah Meadows, Associate
Josiah joins our investment team as an Associate. Previously, he was a Summer Associate with Teamworthy Ventures. Prior to Teamworthy, he worked as an intern at The White House and on Capitol Hill. He graduated from Harvard with a B.A. in Government, a minor in Economics, and a language citation in Latin, and he delivered the Latin Salutatory Address at the University’s Commencement. He lives in Stamford, Connecticut.
Will Thompson, Associate
Will joins our investment team as an Associate. Previously, he was a Summer Associate as well as a Software Engineering Associate with Teamworthy Ventures. Previously, he spent summers at Numinar Analytics and Teamworks on the software and strategy teams, respectively. After graduating with a B.A. in Statistics from Harvard, he spent several months working as a policy fellow in his home state of Virginia's Governor's Office with a focus on K-12 and higher education. Will enjoys spending his free time in the great outdoors whether that be biking, surfing, fishing, or golfing. He currently lives in Stamford, Connecticut.
David Vega, Associate
David is an Associate on our investment team, previously serving as a Summer Associate with Teamworthy Ventures. Prior, David was a writer for Fox News as well as a staffer on Capitol Hill working in defense and technology legislation. David has past experience in both videography and media data analysis from his experience traveling the country, shooting and selling film of American landscapes. David is a graduate of Harvard College with an A.B. in Classics and Philosophy. He lives in Connecticut.
Nicole Baumann, Associate (WorthySchools)
Nicole is an Associate on the WorthySchools research team, an education technology project from Teamworthy Ventures. Prior to Teamworthy, she worked with STEM-based schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame where she studied Marketing and Constitutional Studies and was involved with Notre Dame Student Government. She is originally from St. Paul, MN. She currently lives in New York City.
Melanie Ashmore, Head of Investor Relations, Executive Assistant
Melanie is Head of Investor Relations and Executive Assistant to the Managing Partner, Thomas Lehrman, at Teamworthy Ventures. She previously worked as Head of Investor Relations and Executive Assistant at Zimmer Partners, LP and Zimmer Lucas Capital, LLC. Prior to that she was Research Assistant at Bear Stearns in the Equity Research group. She also worked at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co, LLC (now Alliance Bernstein, L.P.) in multiple roles. Her early career includes the corporate real estate division at Citibank and the Americas region at Det Norske Veritas. Melanie graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland with a B.A. and M.A. in Management Science & Information Systems Studies and has an additional undergraduate associate degree in Occupational Studies. She works remotely and lives in Miami, Florida.
Talia Furchak, Executive Assistant
Talia is an Executive Assistant to the Partners at Teamworthy Ventures. Talia has a background in Recruiting, Human Resources, and Legal Services. Prior to Teamworthy, she was a Senior Recruiting and Research Coordinator at KCO Resource Management. She began her career as a Paralegal at Martin, Harding, and Mazzotti, LLP before transitioning to Recruiting. Talia graduated from the University at Albany with a B.A. in Sociology and Criminal Justice. She works remotely and lives in Upstate New York with her daughter.
Evan Kaye, Venture Partner
Evan is a Venture Partner with Teamworthy Ventures. He previously co-founded Interscan Medical, and Boliven, an intellectual property search engine. Prior to that he was Managing Director at Gerson Lehrman Group in Healthcare Research, Product Development and Engineering. He is a licensed physician, having trained at University of Cape Town, and Tufts Medical Center. Evan is also a lifelong software developer, has been awarded numerous patents, and is a CFA charterholder. He lives in New York City with his two sons.
Dacia Toll, Venture Partner
Dacia is a Venture Partner with Teamworthy Ventures. She is the founder and former CEO of Achievement First, a non-profit charter management organization which she grew from one school in New Haven, CT, to 41 schools across three states. Achievement First is regularly recognized as one of the top charter networks in the country – having been named four times as finalist for the Broad Foundation Prize for Charter Excellent (finalists are the top three charter networks in the country). Dacia launched AF Accelerate six years ago to support non-AF schools and networks across the country to build their own teacher and leader capacity. Between AF Core and AF Accelerate, Achievement First serves more than 65,000 students. Dacia led the founding team and served for six years (1999-2005) as the principal of the first Achievement First school, Amistad Academy, which posted the greatest achievement gains of any middle school in the state and was the subject of a nationally-televised PBS documentary, “Closing the Achievement Gap.” Dacia currently serves on the boards of Relay Graduate School of Education, 50CAN, and Together Education. After graduating from the University of North Carolina, Dacia received a Rhodes Scholarship and a degree from Oxford University. She also received a teaching certificate and law degree from Yale University.
Corbett Ourso, Technical Recruiter
Corbett is a Technical Recruiter at Teamworthy. He has experience recruiting for companies ranging from start-ups to the Fortune 500, including most recently for Oscar Health. Before starting his recruiting career, Corbett worked as a FOCUS missionary at Benedictine College in Kansas. A native of Louisiana, he graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a B.S. in Management, a minor in Psychology, a Master of Business Administration, and ran Track and Cross Country for four years. Corbett lives in St. Louis, Missouri with his wife and son.
Kateri Allen, Recruiter
Kateri is a Recruiter at Teamworthy. Before joining Teamworthy she was a recruiter at True Search, placing executives at tech companies. Prior to her recruiting work, Kateri spent seven years working in private higher education at Franciscan University of Steubenville and Ave Maria University, and a year and a half in sales and event planning for Legatus International. Kateri graduated with a B.A. from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a double major in Humanities and Theology. Kateri lives in Warner Robins, GA with her husband and their three sons.
